Show up consistently.
Be open and honest, even if it does not feel comfortable.
Try new things that we discuss.
Let me support you.

What will our first visit be like?

Our first visit is an opportunity to meet and get to know one another. We will talk about what brought you in at this time and what your greatest hopes for therapy are. You will get a sense of me and my work to determine if it will be a good fit.

What are your fees?

My fee is $160 per 50-minute session.

What are the modalities you use?

The modalities I use are Control Mastery Therapy, Self-Psychology Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.

What is your cancellation policy?

I require a 48-hour notice for cancellation as I am not able to fill my time in such short notice. You will be charged for the session at my regular rate of $160.00.

What if I need to contact you between sessions?

If you do not reach me directly by phone or email, leave me a message. I will get back to you as soon as possible. If needed, we can schedule an additional phone or in-person appointment between regular appointment times.

Do you receive text messages on your phone?

For scheduling or cancellation needs only, as text messaging is not a secure form of communication.

Do you take insurance?

Yes, I am an in-network provider for several insurance panels (Anthem Blue Cross, Blue Shield, Magellan, Medicare, Beacon). I also work with out-of-network insurance plans that provide reimbursement for psychotherapy. This involves you paying me for sessions and then submitting a bill to your insurance company which will reimburse you a percentage of your fee. I will prepare monthly bills for you to submit for reimbursement.

How long will I be in therapy?

It is different for everyone, but usually no less than three months for me to get to know you and help you with any significant changes to occur. Sometimes people stay in therapy for several years.

Generally, the length of therapy is usually determined by when people start to feel better and get the relief they want. Ultimately, it is when you feel like you got what you came in for.

Can I bring my dog to sessions?

Certainly, if he/she behaves and does not distract you.
